We are currently developing habitat gardens across Chattanooga, TN and Atlanta, GA.
While we offer many different services, it’s important that our work is contributing towards one or more of the following goals:
Improving soil
- Enriching soil using compost, mulch, leaves, and natural plant material found as close to the source as possible, preferably on site
- Filling empty spaces with appropriate plant material or mulch to reduce bare soil
Improving water
- Recycling water on site as much as possible, preventing street or property runoff, and harnessing it as a resource
- Using watering methods and planting methods that encourage healthy, deep plant roots, and more adaptable plant communities
- Reducing water consumption
Developing native plant communities
- Choosing plants that support and promote a healthy and diverse community
- Building habitat and biodiversity
- Right plant right place requiring less maintenance and fewer resources
- Removing/managing invasive species
Eco-friendly gardening practices
- Composting
- Mulching
- Water management
- Natural pest management
- Environmentally friendly maintenance practices
- People and wildlife friendly designs and installations
